RE: Fall 2004 Enrollment

The total enrollment at the third-week census date for the fall 2004 quarter was 15,013, an increase of 29 students over fall of 2003.  This included 10,238 continuing, 4,582 new, 186 returning, and 7 visiting students. This modest increase in enrollments when compared to the previous year reflects the impact of state admissions policies restricting entering freshperson admissions for budgetary reasons.  The number of off-campus students grew by 35%, resulting in a net reduction of 96 students on campus, over last fall.

The fall-winter-spring three-quarter average headcount for the 2004-05 academic year is projected at 14,490 (14,444 FTE).   Including the 81 students enrolled in the summer 2004 State funded Education masters program – the total student FTE for the 2004-05 academic year is projected at 14,525.
