UCSC Data Warehouse

UC Santa Cruz created a Data Warehouse to allow campus staff to access and integrate information from various source systems. Campus staff can use the information in (1) analysis and decision-making, (2) providing standard and ad hoc reports to peers, and (3) meeting their unit's business objectives.

Data is received from the financial (FIS), budget (FMW), personnel (PPS), student (SIS/AIS), course audit (SCiiPI) and facilities (FacLink) campus systems. Staff use Business Objects™ to write or run reports, or InfoView™, a web-accessible report-reading tool, to access the archived information. [Diagram]

UCSC's Data Warehouse offers a full suite of certified reports for each subject area to ensure information is interpreted consistently. Training courses are available to those who write reports. Staff are also supported by the Data Management Help Line x95083 or by emailing data-mgmt@ucsc.edu to request assistance.
