Single metrics such as the number of courses, credit hours, or class size do not adequately convey the faculty’s changing role as students move from introductory classes to more independent scholarly activity as they approach graduation.

UC is exploring ways to report faculty instructional activity in the broader perspective of educational outcomes, such as degrees awarded, graduation rates, and average time to degree—accordingly the multiple measures of instructional activity provided on this site should be considered in combination, not individually, in order to provide a more complete picture of faculty effort.

Student Credit Hours (SCH)

Quarterly student credit hour reports for lower division, upper division, and all undergraduate students are produced based upon course enrollments at the third-week census date.

Ladder Faculty Courses, Loads & Enrollments

The course audits are an annual summary of courses taught by ladder rank (tenure track) faculty.

All Instruction

Each year a summary of instructional workload indicators are provided for planning purposes.
