Preliminary Draft Land Use Concept Plan Options

Option A: Loop Road Option
- maintains the 1988 LRDP land use boundaries
- minimal academic core expansion
- extends Meyer Drive
- completes the North Loop road
- new student housing mostly to the north
- minimal student in-fill housing

Option B: Expanded Core ("Loose
Fit") Option

requires changes to the 1988 LRDP campus natural reserve
boundaries

potential for an expanded academic core

extends Meyer Drive

completes the North Loop road

moderate new student housing to the north

Option
C: Extend Heller to Empire
Grade Option
- maintains the 1988 LRDP land use boundaries
- minimal academic core expansion
- extends Meyer Drive
- extends Heller Drive to Empire Grade
- moderate new student housing to the north
- moderate student in-fill housing

Option D: East-West Expansion
Option

requires changes to the 1988 LRDP land use boundaries (for
new colleges)

minimal academic core expansion

extends Meyer Drive
- does not require completion of North Loop road
- locates new Graduate College at the Porter meadow
- sites Colleges 11 and 12 at the existing OPERS fields
- OPERS fields relocated and expanded to the south of
existing fields
- maximizes student in-fill housing
Note:
These options explore a range of alternatives for accommodating the LRDP
program elements identified thus far. They do
not represent
designs and are intended solely for discussion by the LRDP work
groups
(i.e., land use and environment; housing and student life;
transportation and circulation; infrastructure and technology; and
campus and community).
It is anticipated that a preferred alternative will be selected from
among these for further refinement during the summer. |
