Stringent Compliance and Reporting Requirements
Please note that compliance and reporting requirements for use of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds are more stringent than is typical for use of federal funds. Principal investigators and administrators are encouraged to pay particular attention to assurances and compliance information as described in RFPs and FRAs.
For example, awarded funds generally must be obligated or expended by September 30, 2010, and the distinction between obligation and expenditure may vary by Department or Agency, or by specific program. Therefore, you must carefully check compliance conditions for each award.
The White House Office of Management and Budget has provided this initial guidance that also addresses reporting requirements on the stimulus bill.
