2.      Space for the Arts

Replacement space for Arts and IPMTS

At the October 16, 2001 meeting, ACF recommended that Student Affairs and the Arts meet informally regarding possible flexibility of Student Affairs space for use by the Arts because of space coming on line with the construction of the new bookstore and reallocation of space in existing buildings.

A solution has been reached that will provide the Arts with 1,400 asf of additional space, in addition to replacing 2,500 asf of art studio space lost with the construction of the Infill Apartments at Porter College.  In addition, the solution provides for the replacement of IPMTS Service Center space (1,200 asf), also lost with the construction of the Infill Apartment at Porter College.  The Housing Administration Building will be used for art studios and for a portion of IPMTS and some space in the Classroom Building will be assigned to IPMTS.

Sponsors:  Houghton, Hernandez, Vani, Simpson

Presenter:      Dennis Artman

The Committee is asked to recommend approval of the reassignment of space.
