Overview,
membership, and charge
The
Academic Planning Committee is the forum
where the academic deans, the cognizant vice-provosts, and members of
the academic senate will introduce and debate major campus academic programs,
and will forward recommendations to the Campus Provost. The specific elements
of the committee's charge include:

Developing a set
of principles to guide the establishment of new programs.

Developing a set
of principles to guide the evaluation of existing and new programs.

Recommending to
the Campus Provost the establishment and/or disestablishment of major academic
programs.
The
academic senate will be kept informed of the committee's deliberations. However,
the committee's work will supplement, and in no way supplant,
the established consultative process.

Meetings
and Minutes
APC
will be meeting on an as needed basis until further notice. Agendas
and minutes from APC meetings are available.
The committee has also compiled a list of
resource documents
for those interested in learning more about the academic
planning issues facing the campus and higher education.
