What are UCSC's retention and graduation rates?

The most meaningful of these statistics are the 1- and 2- year retention rates, and the 4-, 5- and 6-year graduation rates.  Of these, the 6-year graduation rate is the most important.  It is the most widely reported, and considered the best benchmark of institutional effectiveness.

The most recent statistics for UC Santa Cruz freshmen cohorts are:

1-Year Retention: 89% (2004 cohort)
2-Year Retention: 79% (2003 cohort)
4-Year Graduation: 46% (2001 cohort)
5-Year Graduation: 66% (2002 cohort)
6-Year Graduation: 70% (1999 cohort)

The most recent cohort for whom a complete set of retention and graduation statistics is available is the 1999 cohort.
