2.10: Regardless of mode of program delivery, the institution
regularly identifies the characteristics of its students and assesses their
needs, experiences, and levels of satisfaction. This information is used to
help shape a learning-centered environment and to actively promote student
success.

UC Santa Cruz Summary of Evidence |
As mentioned in section 2.6, UCSC undertakes a battery
of surveys to better understand our students’ readiness, expectations,
predilections, and aspirations. We learn which college objectives they
hold important and how much progress they feel they are making towards
those goals. We also carefully track progress to degree for each
subpopulation and in the process identify populations which could benefit
from additional support services. Our Academic Resource Center actively
uses these studies to assess the success of its services and plan for new
services.
