UC Santa Cruz Summary of Evidence |
The UCSC Center for
Teaching Excellence (CTE) provides a variety of resources and services
in support of faculty teaching. This includes sponsoring faculty
workshops and seminars,
developing a web based Teaching Toolbox for helping faculty locate
instructional resources, and providing assessment and consultation on
teaching and course development. The Academic Senate Committee on Teaching
(COT), in collaboration with CTE, oversees the annual allocation of
Instructional Improvement
Grants, and the selection of faculty for the
Excellence in Teaching Awards.
CTE also provides a quarterly newsletter the
Faculty Focus,
to keep faculty informed about resources and new developments in teaching
and technology. Faculty also have access to support via the systemwide
UC Teaching and Technology Learning
Center.
The COT recently conducted a survey of the services
offered by CTE in an effort to gauge faculty awareness of services
currently offered, and to explore areas for future development and/or
improvement.
