appropriate oversight over institutional integrity, policies, and ongoing

The Regents of the University of California set overall
policy for the University and to some extent insulate it from political
pressures. They select the President of the University, to whom most
administrative functions are delegated. They approve all high level
appointments at the Office of the President and on the campuses.
